Marianna Penga is a highly individual Fashion Accessories label based in Cyprus .

After her MA in Textile Futures from Central Saint Martins, Marianna launched the label in 2005 featuring unique designs, using modern materials and technologies. The aim was to give three-dimensionality to otherwise flat surfaces and create statement pieces that are both bold and beautiful by maintaining a high quality finish.

For her first collection “Butterflies” S/S 2005/06, the designer used laser cutting on leather, which became the labels distinctive medium of expression, encrusted with Swarovski crystals. The 'butterfly' was for the designer a symbol of femininity and beauty, while the crystals added an element of glamour and elegance.

The “Lovebirds” range for A/W 2006/07 was created around the idea of togetherness and of people being in-love. Based on the image of hummingbirds with their iridescent colours and shimmering splendor the collection is wonderfully fresh with an Art Deco feel.

Inspired by William Morris's textiles, the “English Rose” range for S/S 2007/08 used a classic image on a modern design. The crystals are like raindrops on the flowers' petals on morning dew. The range features headbands, belts, brooches, pendants, cuffs and necklaces.

A/W 2008/09 collection saw a change from leather onto plastic and Rosewood. Flower and butterfly shapes were cut with a CNC; Computer Numeric Cutting machine and depending on scale, designs were layered to create items like brooches, earrings, bracelets and necklaces. Gold and silver lacquers were also employed on Rosewood, while black and purple colours became the basis for the plastic range.

The idea of love and romance inspired the current collection for A/W 2009/10 based on the symbol of the “Heart”. Clusters of hearts in various shapes and sizes in silver, leather and double-sided plastic in black and gold make up her strongest of collections to date.

For the future the label aims to create bags, purses and shoe designs, consequently covering the broader spectrum of Fashion Accessories.
